A significant milestone was achieved in 2022 when Turkey secured its position as the 12th highest defense industry exporter globally, with seven Turkish companies among the top 1000 defense industry entities. This upward trajectory can be attributed to the sector’s technology-intensive nature and its collaborative approach with the private sector. This dynamic has attracted international attention, drawing countries interested in benefiting from Turkey’s advanced defense industry. New investors are also eager to capitalize on the sector’s promising potential. Notably, Turkey has strong international partnerships, particularly with the USA, Sweden, and the UK. The remarkable average of $1.5 billion in annual exports to the USA solidifies the cooperative relationship, highlighting the industry’s global reach and influence.
